CITY\ **layers** gives you a 'Google Maps' style view of any city that is fully zoomable and scrollable in your browser.
Within this you can overlay visualizations of urban datasets from multiple domains, including buildings, transportation,
energy, waste, and greenery, combining them to understand their spatial relationships with the city and with each other.
Beyond this, you can choose from various services, such as retrofit strategy creation, traffic emission modelling, or rooftop solar assessments,
based on selected buildings or selected regions of the city.

These services are designed for city policymakers as well as private and public decision makers. They begin as a prototype, based on the models of our students, and then work with partners to create usable tools targeted at their use-cases

The vision for CITY\ **layers** is that you will be able to select any city but for now the prototype works with the cities of Montreal and Quebec.

As such, CITY\ **layers** serves as a showcase for the various scientific models being developed within the NGCI.
