################################ About ################################ The RETRO\ **fitter** provides building owners with an easy-to-use tool that allows them to compare energy usage, costs, and CO₂ emissions as a result of custom retrofit scenarios without being an expert. It is composed by: - RETRO\ **fitter** :doc:`(UNITY front-end) <../retrofitter/index>` - Dompark API :doc:`(back-end) <../domparkapi/index>` A prototype front-end (the :doc:`C40 Project <../c40project/index>`) was created at first to demonstrate and experiment with building retrofitting. It was later replaced by the RETRO\ **fitter**. At the time of writing, the RETRO\ **fitter** is very much an early prototype, showcasing the potential of an easy-to-use tool for building owners to quickly discover the best retrofitting strategies for their buildings. It works at a greater level of detail than the CITY\ **layers** :doc:`Single-Building <../../citylayers/services/singlebuildingretro/index>` and :doc:`Multi-Building <../../citylayers/services/multibuildingretro/index>` retrofit analysis, providing many more options for the user to include within a retrofit scenario, such as specifying wall constructions, configuring heat pumps, adding rooftop PV and defining mixed building usage.
