Database
MongoDB is the database used to store simulation results of a digital twin when they are needed for future reference (A migration from MongoDB to PostgreSQL was completed recently. Related diagrams will be updated accordingly in the future). One example of how this is used is storing the monnthly energy demand figures for all buildings in Montreal, for the base-case and also for three different retrofit scenarios. These figures include heating demand, cooling demand, appliance demand and hot water demand. These pre-calculated values are then used by the single-building retrofit service, ensuing that the user does not have to wait for a full simulation to be done when clicking on a building.
